Today, I had to watch my neighbor's daughter for 10 hours. She wouldn't eat anything I had to offer, so I ordered a pizza for $19 + a $5 tip = $24. Her father came by to pick her up, thanked me, and gave me a $20 bill. I effectively just paid to watch his kid. FML

Same thing different taste

Today, while delivering pizzas, someone ordered $19.41 in pizza and wings. After finally finding her appartment, she paid me in two sandwich bags full of pennies and nickels. I had to count them out before giving her the pizza. We aren't allowed to enter the residence, and it was 22 degrees. FML

Today, I babysat for my neighbor's brat kid. The mom gave me $15 for 5 hours. I complained to my mom when I got home because last time I got $15/hour. Turns out my mom had told my neighbor that she thought they'd paid me too much last time. Thanks mom. Thanks. FML

Today, I tutored a kid for two hours, for $25 an hour. When it came time for them to pay, my mother told the kid's parents that they could give me ten bucks for the whole thing. She does this a lot. FML

Today, I was delivering pizzas for my summer job. I got a big order to deliver for a fellow graduate's party. While I was being paid for the order my friend shows up and says "Don't pay him, his parents are rich, he can handle it." Then they shut the door and took off. The bill was $75. FML

Today, while I was delivering pizza in the torrential downpour, I waited 5 minutes in the pouring rain for an old lady to dig 20 bucks out of her purse. Her total was $19.99. She told me to keep the change and make lots of money. FML

Today, I ordered pizza for dinner and left cash by the door so my son could pay for it, in case it arrived before I got home. I told him they should get all the money, but I just found the tip. Apparently he thought I'd miscounted. I'm a server. FML

Today, I babysat the neighbors’ evil kids. They dropped them over at my house and I played with them for five hours. After taking the brats back home and putting them to bed, their mother asked me what time I came back to the house. She only paid me for the 20 minutes I was in their house. FML

Today, my daughter asked for a dollar to buy ice cream from the ice cream truck while I was on my computer working. Out of my wallet she took a fifty dollar bill. The ice cream man got a big tip before driving off. FML

That is crazy. Agree on a price beforehand. And you shouldn't have bought the pizza in the first place. Lol... I babysat someone, and his mom gave me her credit card to order Chinese. The person I was babysitting was 11 at the time, and I was 15, so it wasn't that bad because we just watched Harry Potter.

eh, the babysitting sounded like a favor for which the father proffered an honorarium. On the pizza, you shouldn't have caved...eventually little won't eat will eat SOMETHING. Remember: you're temporary. If she won't eat real food, offer her snack food, don't order out for pizza....doesn't have to be a balanced meal. Sounds a little like you decided you were wanting pizza, used her as a pretext and thought her dad would cough up a $50 instead of a $20. Oh, and a standard tip is 20%....you overtipped. Unless you're courting extreme service from the local pizza place. I have been known to intermittently drop the carrier an extra $10 when I get it fast...word gets around that it's SOMETIMES, but I tend to get good service.

pizza hut pizza only costs $5 (so most pizzas should cost around there, not $19) and wow...only $20 for 10 hours. That is soooo not worth it. You should've gotten a couple of hundred I believe

can't believe he only gave you a twenty! you should have slapped him in the face. i got 70 for watching a sleeping baby for 4 & 1/2 hr. even a cheap sitter is 5 an hr.

wow. i didn't know people asked permission to order food for the kids they babysat. it's not like he asked the parent to pay for it (OBVIOUSLY) and if it's a health concern the parent should tell the babysitter beforehand. i would think a parent would be more pissed if their kid didn't have dinner than if they had one less than healthy meal. give me a break. and wow, that guy is a total douche. you totally got jipped.
