Today, I have been teaching my 5 year-old step-daughter how to read and write. She came bounding up to me with a piece of paper and said, "look what I did". It was a letter that said "My dad misses my real mommy, not you". FML

you've been teaching her how to write for only a week and she already knows how to write a whole sentence?

it doesn't say in a week they could have been working in for month and my two yr old can right 2 letters so it is possible

I know that's what I was thinking! I was like geez a super genius! amazing she can WRITE that much if you just taught her...

Lol. Well that sucks.....for you anyway.

aww how mean. maybe your little step-daughter is lying ?

I think the OP is voicing paranoia through an FML. I highly doubt a child who couldn't read or write a week previously would write a letter telling her that her dad misses her real mum...

This could be how she feels. She might be projecting her feelings unto her father. It could also be what she aspires to, or hopes for. In her mind, if you two don't make it, then things will automatically revert to her parents getting back together. I could be wrong, but it's possible.

When my parents broke up, I automatically fell in love with my step-mom. I never once wished that my parents would get back together, I didn't care, now I had two mommies! (More Christmas presents! yay!) Actually, wanted my step-mom to be my only mommy and I still do!
