By nowhereman1990 - 03/08/2010 04:23 - Venezuela

Today, I heard on a local radio a song I wrote almost 2 years ago. Apparently, after my family and I moved away, my former band found a new guitar player, and that song is now the first single of their debut LP. FML

you really should sue them or sth, what if they become the next big thing with a song that you wrote?

yep and this is where you sue for your copyrights :-)....**** them old assholes, git your money!!!!!!

You all are forgetting he is in Venezuela. Their copyright laws could be different from the US. At least in the US, you get the copyright to the song the minute you put it on paper or record it on a tape.

Buy a little Tascam recording box. Start recording your songs as soon as you write them. That way, if you lose track of it, you can come back to it later. Also, you have evidence that you wrote the song. I hope no-one ever steals any of my original tunes...I shouldn't have given out all those free cd's.

50 - you're so right! And I agree with you about giving out all those free CDs, as well!! lmao! At least EVERY, SINGLE one of my tunes are copy written! **WHEW**

Bummer. I'm curious to know what band it was. But uh yeah, like #7 said, if it was pop music, YDI. Then again, that is very unfortunate, so FYL.
