Today, I ignored my cat's incessant meowing, and pushed him away every time he wanted to be petted. The next time I walked downstairs I found him dead. FML

Awww, that sucks. Sorry about your cat =(

I am sorry about your cat. I'm sure you feel bad about ignoring him but even if you loved on him there's no guarantee that he would have not died. I worked at a vet and one of the vets had her cats die in its sleep one day after she got home from work. He was 2 years old and was healthy. It just happens sometimes and all the love and attention in the world cannot help.

This made me sad. :( He probably died of a broken heart. Yes, cat's have feelings. >:(

All the people saying 'YDI you're a disgusting horrible monster. You aren't even good enough to be a human being. Don't ever breed cause you'll lock the door on a baby and let it die you stupid bitch' are probably 12 year old girls, and that makes me laugh so hard.

I'm a 13 year old girl and I'm basically saying F YOU to all the @$$holes saying that the op deserves to die! and no offence but I find that ageist (dont think it;'s a word but I made it uip, whatever) AND sexist... could be 40 year old men for all you know!

You totally do NOT deserve it, thats horrible. Cats can be really annoying and seek attention all the time, it's normal to get fed up with them. On the bright side you can get a new kitten!

haha it was a death-meow and you just barred it. cats suck. dogs rule.

Cats and dogs both rule - AND cats are more independant and cost less, and in case of some diaster (fire, earthquake etc) you're MUCH more likely to find your cat toddling round than your dog

No, cats actually cost less because they're more independent and less high-maintenance. I would say more, but you're probably a troll and enjoying this so...

I feel bad for you for losing your kitty, but it does happen. I can normally tell the type of cries my cat Momo will make. Sometimes though he will howl like he's in pain or caught an animal and he's just walking around the house just fine. Sometimes cats know how to get our attention when we respond to certain cries. If your cat had enough food/water and attention, I don't see how you are a monster for ignoring your cat to get some work done. I've done it myself with Momo and my other two cats. I just want to say, all the people who are ripping this poor person, may karma come back to you.

hah! I don't think anyone who said YDI has EVER owned a cat in their life. And no, having a friend who has a cat doesn't count.

"Most cats are very demanding" = Lie. Cats are low maintenance pets compared to most animals around their size. The cat was probably meowing and coming towards the owner for food, maybe? Water? This woman deserves it, plain and simple. Hopefully next time she wants a pet - she won't get one.

me three teehee that rhymes haha so does teehee lolz

"Cats don't magically up and die. He was sick..." Before commenting here, please make sure your statement has fact in it. Even though I'm a cat owner, I don't try and pretend I know everything about cats so I look online before posting. Cats are just as capable of dying suddenly as humans are, although with different causes.
