Today, I ignored my cat's incessant meowing, and pushed him away every time he wanted to be petted. The next time I walked downstairs I found him dead. FML

Today, my overly-attached 14-year-old cat wanted attention while I was in a heated Skype argument with my girlfriend. Worked up from the fight, I raised my voice and said, "Not now, go away!" He ran to his little bed, had a heart attack and died. I was a complete dick to my cat in his last moments. FML

Today, despite me not liking cats, which my wife knew, she got a cat anyway. Her cat went for a walk outside and was hit by a car. I rushed outside to help the cat but found she was already dead, and the culprit had driven away. When my wife found out that her cat was dead, she thought I'd killed her. FML

Today, my cat was incessantly meowing trying to get me to wake up and feed him. Because it was 6 a.m., and I'd hardly slept at all last night, my brain decided that the best solution to get him to shut up would be to hug him. The result was a normally docile and lazy cat giving me a nasty scratch next to my left eye. FML

Today, I was woken up by my cat, who normally doesn't bother me in the morning, meowing desperately and trying to get me to wake up. Fearing that something was very wrong, I jumped out of bed. He gestured for me to follow him, so I did. I followed him all the way to the kitchen, where he proceeded to puke. FML

Why does this have so many YDI's? If you've ever owned a cat you'll understand that you can't always let your cat get what it wants. Most cats are very demanding, sometimes even annoying, and sometimes you have to push them away. It's very obvious that the OP loved her cat, and that it hurt her a lot to push away the cat when it was meowing. SHE. DIDN'T. DESERVE. IT. #315, don't be such a no-life hater.

i'm sorry OP. i came home one day and my cat was just lying on the floor and she never did that. i tried to pick her up and she was just so out of it. we took her to the vet, and they had to put her down. whether you gave your cat attention or didn't, she probably still would've passed. Just remember all the great times you had with your cat.

wow, i dont get the massive amounts of YDI, I mean sure everyone does this every so often if they are busy and just dont want to pet the cat today, and im sure you don't think they will be dead the next time you see them, you guys are seriously ****** for saying YDI. Are you really thinking "next time I see you, you might be dead on the floor" every single time you are petting or giving attention to your pets? It's just not something that is always on your mind. FYL for sure!
