Show it anywayI hope they put it up for adoption. I would hate to be the kid raised by people who hate kids.

Show it anywayPlease, #293, stop with the "there is a reason this happened" bullshit. Birth control fails, it's not a miracle baby sent to make them better people. If it happens to make good changes, good, but it's not meant to happen. They don't want kids, this is the opposite of what they wanted.
I'm going to play devil's advocate here and suggest that maybe OP's method(s) of contraception failed. We all know that no contraceptive is 100%, and sometimes even doubling up isn't enough. As for getting "fixed," well, good luck finding a doctor who will take you seriously about not wanting kids. After I had my kid at 20 I asked about having my tubes tied, and was met with a flat-out no, since I was young and only have one child. I haven't been able to find a doctor who would do it for me since then. OP, I hope it works out for you. I know it's going to be hard to live with but sometimes, even when we do everything right, life decides to throw something else at us. Best of luck!
They can deny you the procedure? That is so incredibly stupid if people are dead-set against having children.
Yes they can, and I'm not the only one of my friends with this problem. One of my best friends ended up with two more kids before her doctor would even consider tying her tubes.
Well I sure hope her doctor offered to pay all the childcare, clothing, and school expenses related to those kids.
Yep. Often they'll even deny the procedure to women under 35 even if they have crippling pain from cysts or PCOS. It's ****** up it's assumed all women want children or they'll "change their minds" instead of actually listening to them.
In some states doctors can insist that you have your spouses permission before getting clipped. I've only ever seen it used on women though. Absolute bullshit that needs to be stopped.
Of course they can deny that procedure, I was told it's because it's expensive and reversible insurance companies don't want to deal with women changing their minds. My doctor told me he'd consider doing it after I turned 30 and had two kids. I told him that having kids defeated the purpose of tying my tubes. He said I'm young, I don't know what I want, and one day I'll change my mind. I'm still mad about that.
Guys can get vasectomy's the second they can sign the legal documents, women have to wait till they're told that their biological clocks are no longer ticking and if they've had more than the prescribed number of children. I am guessing the Duggers still haven't had enough to qualify, so go figure for a woman who has no children.
My mother had some sort of early-stage uterus cancer and had to have a hysterectomy (for those who don't know, that's basically when they take your uterus out) and the only reason they even considered letting her get one is because she already had two kids. They would have tried to find a different option (that had less of a chance of totally ridding her of the cancer) that wouldn't have, for lack of a better word, stopped her from having kids if she didn't already have me and my brother. It's really sick how doctors will refuse you unless you have kids or are over 30. Overpopulation is a severe problem, why not let the people who definitely don't want kids get their tubes tied so that they don't bring an unwanted child into the world?
I've had two male friends forced to donate sperm before they were allowed to get vasectomies because the doctor swore they'd change their minds. They get the same bullshit, but just have an easier loop hole thanks to sperm banks. Also, the fact that theirs is an outpatient procedure done with a local anesthetic and ours is often elective, expensive, invasive and requires general anesthesia. That being said, doctors should be listening to the patients wishes and only worry about the health concerns with surgery. Not refusing a surgery based on their sexist bias.
@110 that's not true in all cases, my husband was 28 we have 2 kids and his dr was still very hesitant on doing the procedure.
My mother was 30 when she had her third child and the pregnancy almost killed her. Even the fact that she would die if she had more children wasn't enough for the doctors to tie her tubes, because she could want 'more kids'. ridiculous
Overpopulation isn't a real thing. Mishandling the current population IS. We could fit everyone in the world in North America just fine, if we had a really good set of plans. But the rich bitches being top 1% of the 1% not helping the world, causes the poorer to be unable to fend for themselves financially. This however does not take away from the fact that doctors have some kind of class they take that say they can deny their patients right to an elective surgery for person or religious reason. (Okay probably not but they think they do) and they should be sued for malpractice in these cases.
yep. us women do not have rights over our own body. that is the status quo. we aren't allowed to make those big important decisions about what does or doesn't happen to us...
How large are you to not notice that?
She isn't necessarily "large". All pregnancies are different, even within the same woman. She could be very active. Not everyone gets huge.
Although it's easier for larger people to hide a pregnancy, some times super fit people will not show till they are well over 20 weeks because they have strong abdominal muscles. They could also have irregular periods due to low body fat so they may not realise they are pregnant if they had no other symptoms. There was a photo recently of a fitness model who hardly looked pregnant when she was full term.
Many women, with their first pregnancy don't start showing till they are a lot farther along. Your abdominal wall can usually keep it hidden for a while. I didn't start showing till I was about 5.5 months. I do think that it would be hard not to notice from other symptoms though.
I started showing early with my first child. At 12 weeks, I looked about 20. I am pretty short though (5'0) so not a lot of room for everything to go.
I'm not surprised she didn't show. My friends mom recently got pregnant and had a 3rd kid and she was healthy weight, 5'1, and didn't really show until about 6 months. The baby was born at 7 lbs 6 oz so she wasn't carrying a someone under sized.
I take it you have never seen the show "I Didn't Know I was Pregnant." A lot of women show no signs of pregnancy until the very end, or not at all. They just start hurting one day, thinking they have appendicitis or something, and find out they're in labor. Look it up if you're ever curious. It's a pretty fascinating show.
That's what I've been telling all those judgemental idiots ...
My sister is 115 pounds. Delivered an eight pound baby. She didn't start showing until midway through her sixth month of pregnancy. It has nothing to do with how "large" OP may or may not be.
depending on the state, here in the us, u can't get an abortion after 8 weeks to 6 months, so if ur in a state like texas, ur screwed after 8 weeks, here in Delaware it's 14 weeks.
Wow. If you hate them that much, why didn't you make your husband get a vasectomy to eliminate the chance of pregnancy? Or get your tubes plugged? You two are idiots.
If you have no kids most doctors won't tie your tubes until you're 30. And that's not 100% even, in rare cases people do have a child after a vasectomy or tubal ligation. My aunt did. We're both getting fixed just to be extra safe, but we are in our 30's. When I started asking I was told I had to wait.
How are you too far along for abortion? I thought the ban was 20 weeks, and you'd definitely have noticed before then. Anyways, there's always adoption. And if you both hated kids so much, why didn't he get a vasectomy or you get your tubes tied? Best of luck.
It's 9 weeks in some states and most women don't find out until after that mark
Depends on your abortion method. At least in NY. The pill is 9 weeks and in-clinic is up to 24 weeks but after 16 weeks might need multiple visits.
How did you not realise you were pregnant until now?
How far is the abortion laws in your country? Because I too am pregnant with an unwanted child - however I did my test after my period was a week late. How did you not notice sooner? Missing a period is an obvious sign no woman should ignore.
It should be noted that not all women stop having a period when pregnant. Even when I was pregnant with my son, I had light bleeding the first few months.
Some women don't have regular periods so atypical periods wouldn't ring any bells. Plus, women can not notice they're pregnant until they're right about to drop the kid out. Every pregnancy is different with different symptoms.
33 it is physically impossible to have a period while pregnant. Please never call it that. Breakthrough bleeding yes, period no.
#390 - Excuse me, "break through" bleeding. Main point being that, yes, it's possible to bleed while pregnant.
33, then it's implantation bleeding and not a period. If you have a full-blown period, you literally can't be pregnant.
I am currently pregnant with an unwanted child too, but I was on the depo shot so guess what? I don't have periods. I also always use condoms so doubling up does not always work.
If you're absolutely sure that you don't want kids either you could have your tubes tied or he could get a vasectomy
Yes because if you go to a doctor and ask they will just be like "oh, sure!" (Sarcasm. No reputable doctor will sterilize someone if they are young and have no children, unless there is some sort of significant health risk associated with pregnancy. And even then they may make you wait).
yes, it is a tragedy that two selfish assholes such as yourselves will be breeding.
Wow. What makes them selfish? Not wanting kids is perfectly fine, people are not obligated to reproduce!
Selfish assholes for not wanting kids? What would you say about people who only have kids to get benefits? Or are you okay with those because they had children? You're the asshole here.
Put it up for adoption so that the child can go to someone that will actually appreciate them.
