Today, I left a note on the kitchen table saying to leave the door unlocked because I lost my key. I come home to find our house ransacked and robbed. Minutes later, I found my key. In my pocket. FML

Classic Happens to me 5 times a day. It's just a YDI, because you should always look in your pockets =p.

And thus The Lord created The Number Pad Garage Door Opener, and The Spare Key Given To One's Neighbor. I won't say YDI for not having a key, but you're family is kind of retarded.

a lot of people have garages that aren't attached to their houses, and you can't call a family retarded for not wanting to give their spare keys to their neighbors, in fact I don't know anyone that does that. and, actually you're the retarded one for not knowing the difference between "you're" and "your"

Not to mention those of us who don't have garages at all.

you don't know how to break into your own house?

Says the person who can't differentiate between "your" and "you're"....

Wow, how stupid can you and your family possibly be?!? Why would you ask them to leave the door open? Why would they do it? Sounds like you were just begging to be robbed! Next time: leave a spare key at someone else's house or hidden (WELL) on your property somewhere.

Sorry man I had to do it, you made it too easy. BTW I found your gay **** under your mattress, you need to hide it better.

Why didn't you just call them or send an SMS message?

It's sad how many people agree that leaving your door open is the dumbest thing you can possibly do. Where the hell do you all live?! I live in a small shared apartment which almost doesn't have a lock on the door—if you saw the lock and the key you'd piss your pants. I haven't locked it ONCE since moving in. In my opinion there are two kinds of thieves: 1. The Opportunistic Asshole. This guy sees an easy opportunity and takes it. 2. The Determined Asshole. He doesn't care if your door is locked or what kind of lock you have. If you have something he wants, he's gonna get it. I'm not sure someone who goes around checking doors counts as an opportunist.

This could be an FYL or a YDI depending on what kind of area you live in. I live in a small town and NOTHING happens around here. I don't think anyone has been robbed here in decades. If you live in a bigger area were this kid of stuff is usual, than you deserve it.
