Leave her dont have her committed. Several police will come with guns and tasers and take her against her will to a state hospital which will probably be poorly staffed. She will be made to strip and humuliated and it wont help. committment is not funny it is not helpful it is selfish. Suggest to her she shold VOLUNATRILY go and get help but dont get the law enforcement community involved with her mental health. Once yo do that there is no turning back. I really dont think thats how yall got married. It cant be real. Who would marry someone for that reason??? JUST LEAVE HER!!!!!

You only live life once- you deserve to be happy. If your wife was truely happy with your relationship she wouldn't continue to make suicide threats- a divorce is definitely the best solution. Urge her to get help, start with your GP and they can forward her on from there to more helpful services. Best of luck with this new girl, I really hope things work out. You see that situation in Utah all the time...people marrying too early. I have a friend whose husband threatened to kill himself if she divorced him. She decided she was dying in the relationship anyway and divorced him anyway. He killed himself. She's moved on. Suicide, while tragic, is the ultimate exercise of personal responsibility. If he buys the life insurance, he gets to decide who the beneficiary is. And presumably she would do it when the divorce is filed, and she won't wait until the divorce is finalized.
