I hope he was honestly just joking, and can at least think his daughter is pretty. But then who knows, maybe she isn't using her money to look that way. It's a slightly jerky comment, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think it was funny, which I do. Just be happy someone has a sense of humour. Besides, I think make-up is a bit of horrible thing anyways. It really can change your whole appearance. Girls are too worry about looking 'perfect' to be real and natural. Instead they cake make-up on and look like a completely different person.

Whether she was wearing too much make-up or not, her dad shouldn't have said that in front of other people. If he was serious, or she didn't know he was joking, it could be really hurtful to hear your dad say that about you. And I agree that wearing a lot of make-up is bad, and it just looks stupid, but just a little bit is okay. I know a lot of girls who look really pretty with or without some make-up on. If it doesn't change your appearance too much, I think it's fine. It's when girls wear a LOT of make-up that they start to look really fake.

op, just lighten it up a lil if it's true, people always look sooo much prettier that way. :) a little makeup is fine just dnt go overboard. makeup is to enhance the beauty u already have. :) I try to go as simple as possible and honestly I do look better that way. :D btw it's true ur dad might just be a little protective
