There's not REALLY the "perfect" man or woman, but there as such thing as good enough-- but everyone has their flaws. That's what makes people interesting anyway! OP may have to realize that...In my original comment up there, it sounds as though I were telling OP that Prince Charming exists, but I didn't EXACTLY mean that. OP needs to lower her standards a little bit, but I don't think she would have to throw out her standards completely. I just meant that good guys DO exist, just not to the Prince Charming standards that OP seems to expect.

Tbf to OP, nerds, she said "dream guy," not "the only kind of guy I'd date." Dream guys aren't realistic by definition; you can have a dream guy without really expecting to find all of his qualities in a partner. Don't most promise rings (since no one actually wears purity rings) look significantly different than engagement rings? Most guys aren't swift enough to pick this up, though. So the ones that take the time to look at your left hand will assume you've got someone and leave you alone. Works in my experiences. Also: I thought I typed left ring finger. Guess I didn't!
