Honest mistake! When I took AP lit, I was a senior in high school and I think I read the Odyssey my freshman year. I definitely would have thought "Homer Simpson" over the Greek poet.
We never did anything in MY AP lit class. In fact, had this been my class, your quip would've been the correct context most likely. Good times.
