Hey, man, as long as it's not your wife right? My husband's mother thinks the same thing of me, but I try not to let that get to me. My husband's opinion is the only one that matters, as should your wife's be to you :)

OP is the wife (gender symbol is female). Also, yes it does matter what your spouse's family says about you, especially if it's something that horrible. Imagine if this continues when OP's daughter is older and they influence her about her mother when no one's around. OP should definitely discuss with them and the spouse.

Sit down with your husband and tell him to tell his family if they can't play nice, they are not welcomed in your household. Last thing you need is in laws who undermine your authority over your child.

Ok, so this might be a little harsh, but maybe it's time for some self reflection. I know family can be rough, but most people don't generally wish actual death on people. I feel like there is way more to this story- are you a mass murderer? Do you kick puppies? Why do they feel that way?
