Today, I realized that a classmate and I have the same glasses. To prove it, I tried bending his glasses, since mine are flexible and can bend. I snapped his glasses in half. FML

Were you being that adamant that you had to prove it to them? Seems a bit of a sad thing to prove. YDI and any bill that comes your way.

#43 - OP wasn't being a bully... He clearly didn't intend to break the other guy's glasses. Who knows, maybe he was trying to make friends with the guy by trying to find common ground between them. Granted, next time he should use more common sense, but it's stupid to say that he was being a bully just based off of an FML.

Then I was about ten I hit a kid in the face with a snowball during an after school snowball fight. His glasses broke in like three places. His mom got really mad at me and told me that I was going to have to pay for them. That would have been in the neighborhood of six months of my 'allowance' at the time. I told her that he was throwing snowballs too and it was an accident. But since he was involved it wasn't my responsibility to replace them. They called my folks who backed my play. I later ended up wearing glasses and I can now see why she was so upset. I'd be pretty pissed if mine got broken. But if it was during a snowball fight that I was participating in, well, that's on me. Assumption of risk and personal responsibility have to start somewhere.

If they were exactly the same, he would've accepted it you wouldn't have to prove it!

I hope the next thing you did was buying him new glasses right away.

Why did you need to prove it by doing that? The frames may look the same but not all of them have the springs. My last glasses didn't have them but look exactly the same as what I have now. Even so, why did you bend them hard enough to break them? YDI

Hindsight is 20/20 so one should not need glasses to see this was a bad idea
