Today, I realized that the closest thing I have to a savings account is the cup on my dresser with coins in it. I counted it, $17.34. That is my savings. I'm 28. FML

wow that's sad! How do you live?

I got a minimum wage job at Dunkin Donuts and saved just the tips in a coin-jar. In three weeks, working sixteen hours a week, I had more than sixty dollars in change. Get a job, ya schmuck. Also: Where I live, just opening a savings account gets you $25 already in it, jump on it!

instead of sitting on your computer writing fml's about the situation you should be out looking for a job. at the point where you are right now just about any job would be better than what your doing.

I put between 100-400 euro a month on a savings account, its not that hard! Specially if you keep in mind that I usually only work 1 day a week and im 24. (And i need to buy my own schoolbooks etc.)

#10 if you are not employed what money are u saving? Job equals money. To save money you need a job...just confused...

even with my less then minimum wage job, i still get paid like 300 a paycheck for part time work while going to school. Sorry, gonna have to YDI this one.

i'm tired of fmls about how lame people's lives are. seriously, if your life is that pathetic, get off fml and do something. these aren't funny.

I agree with #21... People who are "half his age" (14) saying they have more money, are living off their parents. Just because they put money into your account from birthdays and Christmas, doesn't mean you're a financial wizard... That being said, OP needs to get off his ass and do something with his life. If all else fails, join the Military. I did when I was 17 (21 now), and it's helped me a lot. After my deployment, I was able to buy my new bike (cash), get my new car (I financed 7,000, to keep my credit up), a new computer, plus various other things I wanted, and I still had 15,000 to add into my savings account (which I already had a good amount in there). It takes a little work and a little time, but it's not hard to build up your savings.
