Today, I realized that the closest thing I have to a savings account is the cup on my dresser with coins in it. I counted it, $17.34. That is my savings. I'm 28. FML

Has anyone else noticed that lately, no matter what the FML is, people shout out "YDI!" left and right?

It's not about how much money u make, it's all about how u spend them! Be wise and good luck!

well that's $17.34 more than what's on MY dresser :)

I agree with number 49 aswell, its not that he/she probabaly doesnt have a job, its that the gross income doesnt make more than the debt

You might be able to sell the cup for a pretty penny.

If you're living all by yourself with no parent support, a savings account of more than 500 dollars is considered doing extremely well. As far as how much you can save, it totally depends on where you are living. If you're in city, having a savings account is pretty hard. With that said, it's probably a "wake up" call for you, if you're 28 and have less than 20 dollars with you. You need to start planning a way to save up money.

People just need to learn how to be more conservative with their money. You need to account for how much money you make in a given month and live accordingly within your means. If you aren't saving any money or are complaining about being broke or in debt, then you should get rid of some of your luxuries. You don't NEED to have the premium cable package or go out to the bars and party it up every weekend. If you got rid of cable, you'd easily be saving $50 per month. Even if you buy store brand goods, rather than name brand, the savings will quickly add up. Besides, with the number of people who don't even know proper grammar or spelling, it definitely wouldn't hurt for more people in our generation to read books rather than watch American Idol. FTW!

#21, 42, and 50 took the words right out of my mouth.

HAHAHA at #15! You're 15 and you have $600 saved for retirement already?? ...have fun enjoying life before then! You only live once...loosen up! And I agree with #49...why are you all assuming he has no job?
