Today, I realized that what I thought for years was my country's National Anthem, is actually the theme song of a TV show. FML

Hangin' out. Down the street. The same old thing. We did last week. . . Sure it's in Sweden, but there's a chance.

How do you not know your own country's national anthem ? ....it can't be that hard.

its not taught in schools/sung at sporting events because it is considered "offensive" to those in Sweden who are not Swedish. (and lersonally i think that that logic is incredibly idiotic because nobody should take in offense someone honouring their country)

Stupidity of this degree doesn't deserve an FML, it deserves a tutor.

That's ok, half the people who sing the national anthem here at sporting events don't even know the words.

I think there's a big difference between not knowing the words and thinking a TV show theme song is your national anthem.

Is it the "Ikea" song bragging about their Swedish meatballs?

Nope, sorry to disappoint you enslaved, as an employee of IKEA myself, that isn't correct. Haha.

#80, sorry, Enslaved is right. It's Jonatan Coulton's song featuring the line, "In New Jersey, they got a goddam Swedish parade." QED.

Why would that be Sweden's national anthem?

I would understand if this was Singapore, but how did not know?

in Sweden theres a popular TV show that starts out with the words "Stockholm in my heart" and basically goes on singing about our national capital

Now, this is a story all about how My life got flipped-turned upside down And I'd like to take a minute Just sit right there I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air
