Today, I received a card in the mail. It was from my vet's office. Written inside was "We send our sympathy during this trying time." I haven't been home in three days. I can't find my dog and my mother won't talk about it. My dog was 7. She hated that dog. FML

Today, I returned home from college for the first time in a month. I went to my bedroom and found a nice gift bag on my dresser. Thinking it was a Valentine's gift, I opened it. My dog's ashes were in a tin inside. This is how I found out my dog died since I was away. FML

Today, while house sitting for my mother and stepfather, their elderly dog passed away. They live in such a remote location, the closest open vet office is a 2 hour drive, and the local one opens in 10 hours. FML

Today, I was sent a letter by the vet, saying my cat was late for her yearly checkup. My cat died last week and I'd had her cremated by the same people who had sent the letter. FML

Today, I open my front door and saw a covered basket with a card from my girlfriend on it. I picked it up and read, "Hope this cheers you up." I uncovered the basket to find a golden labrador puppy. Its eyes were closed and it wasn't breathing. FML

Today, I called my mother to check up on her. Lately, she's been having some financial problems, so last week I sent her my last $100 to help her out until her next paycheck. She used the money to euthanize the family dog. FML

Today, I was taking out the trash and I came upon a bill from a veterinary hospital. It was for $50 and it was a bill to put my dog down. My Dad said my dog was missing and I put hundreds of signs around the city. FML

Today, I was at a friend's birthday party when I got a call from my mom telling me to come home because my dog died. When I told my friend that I had to leave because of the loss, she replied with, "Okay, but you brought my gift inside, right?" FML

i know everyone is saying this, but im sorry..... my heart goes out to you and all the people who have had there animals killed on purpose..... my animals are my life, and i would be heart broken and my life wouldnt matter without my animals. they are all the most important part of... they make me who i am. So im so sorry for you guys :(

#87 Oooh, the dog BIT her. That's a GREAT reason to put the dog down -_- ignorant dumbass Nearly every domesticated dog in the world is a tranquil animal and does not bite unless provoked. All those news stories you hear, like that Beagle who ripped a baby out of her mother's arms and tore the infant to pieces - the mother of the kid even said that she "kicked the dog, hard," to make it stop following her. This dog was probably perfectly fine, and the animal-hating mother takes the opportunity to get rid of it without the voice of its owner present. Op: Force her ass out of the house. Doesn't matter if it's her house. She killed another living being in that house (or at least drove the dog to its death from that house) and most murderers don't get to keep their houses - they do down in line. You don't really have the law on your side, so for this you could use #51's tactic. Better yet, if she buys another animal that SHE likes to replace it, feed it some rat poison and take it to go get euthanized, hahahaha

I am so sorry. I had the same thing happen about a year ago, and it still hurts. I had a healthy five-year-old cat. My mom poisoned my cat, which made no sense because that cat loved her, and she at least pretended to love her. I left a few years ago because I feared what my mother might do...I guess I had a reason. I waited a night alone with my kitty before I could waatch her be euthanized. I know how you feel, just try not to let it get to you, and get away from that insane b*tch as soon as you can. Only insane people murder innocent animals. If this is the case, she will never feel remorse. Hang in there despite the pain. It will lessen with time.
