I think it's cute. I saw one guy propose to his gf by modding the graffiti on the walls in her copy of left 4 dead to say 'will you marry me?'
Thats amazing... I love it!
that's not adorable. it's a stupid way of proposing. and even though it might be "creative". this lady's bf should know her enough to know that she wouldnt want a proposal like that
agreed. If you're an internet nerd, being proposed through facebook would be FABULOUS. but if you don't spend 24/7 on the internet, a facebook application proposal might not be so great. personally, i'm old school and i respect classic romance. you know, roses everywhere, candle-lit dinners, a beautiful night on the town... so, if i was proposed to like this, i would be pissed. though, my ex-boyfriend asked me out on isketch (a pictionary type game) when his word was "propose" I said no to that one, but I said yes when he actually asked me out in person.
Okay, personally I don't think I would mind if I was proposed to like that. I mean, if he knew that you both play the game, then it was reasonably well thought out. It's kind of sweet as well. However, I suppose that if you are someone who values traditions, then this would be quite a disappointment. You may think it makes it impossible for you to tell the story to your kids/family, but actually I think this makes the story that much more interesting. Basically, if you both love each other, you should be happy. The only way I imagine that this could be an FML would be if you didn't love your boyfriend and you were upset because he proposed to you before you both were reading. But that doesn't seem to be the focus of this story, so clearly it isn't the problem. Yay! You're getting married! Get a ring later!
At least he proposed. And it's a rly sweet and creative proposal.
How is this an FML you are just an ungrateful person. It's the thought that counts. I hope he divorces u or cheats on you.
and ofcourse the divoirce will be over facebook too :P
I don't find it all that cute, personally. That is too important a question to do over Facebook. Proposing without a ring is not a problem. Proposing without being face-to-face is impersonal. The sign of a bad proposal idea is usually if the person being proposed to thinks it's a joke because it's done so flippantly. It takes little emotional effort to push a few buttons. Think of all the swearing and name-calling people do over the internet when they'd likely never be so rude in real life. You can hide behind a computer, and same with this proposal. He doesn't have to find the right words or make himself too vulnerable. It takes way more effort to ask for what you want in person, and comes off as way more sincere. It'd be really hard to believe he was serious about getting engaged under these sort of circumstances. Strikes me as how an 18-year-old would propose. Maybe they are 18. Either way, I find proposals done over the internet to be cowardly. I wouldn't blame the OP if she felt the same way.
cmon that's cute!

Isn't that a good thing? I mean, yeah it's not an expensive restaurant and real ring ... but I think it's sweet and almost romantic. :)
Don't post a FML because you are sad you didn't get some multi-thousand dollar ring. He could've given you nothing, like some people on here get. lol
