Today, I received a "diamond ring" in Mafia Wars (a facebook app) from my boyfriend of 3 years. Along with the ring came a message. It read, "Will you marry me?" He was serious. FML

OP: Ok, facebook - mafia wars - 'diamond ring' - BLECH! What in the hell are you talking about you freak? You and the boyfriend (or is he your fiance now?) are obviously way too involved on Facebook that he thought this was the least bit acceptable. You reap what you sew, and apparently you are sewing up some bullshit on Facebook. Really, are you one of those sad sacks that posts updates all day long about their whereabouts and shit (e.g. "Going to get a milkshake, yay!"). I don't even know what to say to any of this, your life is ****** but it goes so far beyond a virtual diamond ring and a proposal on Facebook.. I'll weep for you tonight!!!

As much as I'm all for "cute" and "creative", he didn't even have the decency to be in the same damn room. I liked the Ring Pop at the zoo one. But at least that guy was actually THERE. This is a HUGE turning point in her life, and he did it over FACEBOOK? This is the equivalent of the "Will you go out with me? y/n" notes that went around in elementary/middle school. Maybe it would have been cute if he'd been in the room with her and instead of including the proposal with the ring, simply asked her after she received it. Or something. There are so many ways this COULD have been a cute. creative proposal and instead he was just lazy. Unless he's deployed in the military or something, its definitely an FML for the OP.
