1. I was under the impression that OP was an adult and not a child, though it doesn't really say anything to indicate either, and that wouldn't negate the fact that violence is wrong. 2. The majority of people aren't violent unless they feel they have a reason. Maybe OP's mom is abusive and the "reason" was something like OP not cleaning their room, or maybe OP's mom is perfectly normal and OP just didn't give us the whole story. Maybe OP's mom thought OP was a burglar or something, maybe OP attacked their mom first during an argument/fight, maybe OP killed someone, we don't know.

72: If OP was afraid to admit it out loud, wouldn't they be afraid to say it online too, in case their mom checked their web history and saw that they'd said it or something? Not beyond the bounds of possibility; I know when I don't want someone to find out about something I don't post it online. My mom (who is a normal person) goes through my web history, so if someone was willing to hurt their kid over disobedience, they'd probably be extra-strict about everything else too, including internet and checking web history and stuff.

Wait a minute, you idiots! No one has the right to attack another person this way, especially their child! The doctor should have asked you what happened and if you feel safe at home. Did you tell her the truth? You need to tell someone if you are being abused, for any reason or excuse. There is NOTHING you can do that makes you at fault or causes you to deserve this. Do not accept it. Next time, it could be much worse. And, it scars you for life. There is nothing FML about this. It must be stopped even if it means calling 911 and telling the police about it. Seriously.

Just remember that as much as it hurt you, it hurt her more, as a parent, to have to do that to you. Next time remember to put the damn toilet seat down!
