Today, I received the 'special' present my mother had sent me for my 21st birthday. I opened the box and saw that my mother had picked out, accessorized and shipped to me, in college, a doll. FML

Today, I came home a day after my birthday, and was greeted by my mother who told me, "Oh, I have birthday present for you." She explained that she and my father went on a hike, and handed me my present. I got a fucking stick for my birthday. FML

Break it open and see if there's money inside. No, but you should keep it, it's a gift from your mom and it's special to her. Keep it in a box in your closet, but when she comes over, put it up on your dresser.

I would treasure a doll from my mum, it was personally accessorised, that's so thoughtful . you shouldn't care what anyone else thinks anyway you're 21 now , you don't need to impress immature people at college who find stuff like that funny/mockable :)
