it's a little different if someone is driving drunk.... that putting other peoples lives in danger so I would think in that case it's okay to be a tattletale, ya know....
So show him your phone and the last call you made? What a dork!
wow... if he never hit you, don't tattle tale !
start worrying about yourself and not about others, if their stupid enough to drive drunk then that's their decision, they have to face the consequences not you, but if your still really concern then just pull over, because you broke the law just as they did!
Actually OP didn't break the law as bad as the alleged drunk driver. Also, reporting DUI is the right thing to do and that's not a time where you mind your own business. Lastly, a drunk driver isn't always the only one that has to pay the consequence for their decision. All other surrounding drivers' lives are at risk, and the ones that get wrecked and then injured or killed also pay the consequence of that drunk driver's decision. Please make sure you know what you're talking about before commenting
Heres, the trick, speakerphone, and hold it up to your mouth like a microphone. Its a lot less conspicuous, and its not nearly as distracting as holding the phone to your ear. It becomes easier if you have the stuff to just plug your phone's headphone jack into your car speakers. ...but thats damned hilarious lol. Coulda been worse I guess. Imagine if you got through to report the car, quickly hung up the phone seeing the cop lights, got a ticket from the cop, then later got fined for "abusing the 911 service".
OP is neither a tattletale nor a snitch. Calling in a possible drunk-driver is what you're supposed to do when you see someone driving suspiciously. It's not tattletaling, it's doing the right thing. Drunk drivers should all be caught, they so many innocent lives at risk. It's a shame OP wasn't smart enough to either pull over and make the call, or show the officer the last number called. FYL for having to pay a $159 ticket for -trying- to the the right thing.
I'm really REALLY surprised at all the people saying this bullshit about tattling and snitching. This was a dangerous driver no matter what the reason. Was he drunk? Texting? Talking on the phone? High on PCP? Getting a *******? It doesn't matter - he was swerving and putting everyone around him in harm's way. I am in no way defending OP, because distracted driving is just as dangerous as drunk driving. But I at least applaud his intentions. I would just advise him to get a hands-free unit for the next time he wants to be a Good Samaritan.
uranium for next time he wants to be a nosy Mormon snitch
Cool your jets. The people who fling the word "snitch" around like that are usually the worst kind of people anyway; just little anarchist-wannabe children with no grip on reality. They aren't worth getting too angry over.
The worst part? Very few, if any, of those commentors would be able to answer one simple question persuasively and logically: Why not? They're pretty much just parroting whatever pop culture icon they've heard it from.
....Can't he look through your call history and see who you called and the time? -___-
you deserved that anyway...quit being nosey...we all see it all the time but we just wanna get where we need to be....

why didn't you just show him the last number dialed on your phone? I'm sure that a cop would know the local police phone number
It probably wasn't a DUII driver...it was probably just a person using their cell phone, just like you. I see it all the time, especially with texters.
