Today, I saw a spider in my bathtub, so instead of killing it, i decided to bring my dog inside the bathroom to kill the spider for me. Turns out that the spider was a black widow, and my dog was bit. The dog killed the spider. The spider killed my dog. FML

Today, I tried to have a relaxing soak in the tub. The giant wolf spider that was already in the tub didn't like me trying to set it free outside. It ran right across my feet and back into my house when I dumped it out of a cup outside. I screamed like a little girl. FML

Today, I saw a huge wolf spider in my room. It ran off and hid before I could kill it, but after two hours looking for it then giving up, I finally found it, with my foot, as I put on my shoes. FML

Today, I saw a spider crawling on the floor but had nothing to kill it with and it hid somewhere. So, I got dressed and went out and come home for a shower, and as I'm taking off my undies, something crushed and black fell out. It was the spider and he had been in my underwear the entire day. FML

Today, we found a tarantula type spider in our shed so big it could only have been someone’s escaped pet. This thing was so big, even my husband said, "NOPE!" In the end, we used our neighbour's crossbow to kill, it because I think it grew that big by eating dogs and small horses. FML

Today, I found a big spider on my wall. I have arachnophobia, and I was trying to kill it with my shoe. I pulled back and hit myself in the face, causing me to fall backwards. The spider is still alive somewhere in my house. FML

Today, I asked my husband to deal with the very large spider in our kitchen. Rather than a newspaper or a slipper, he went after it with an aerosol can and a lighter. The spider is now dead, but so are the wall and cupboards in my kitchen. FML

Today, I saw a big, black spider on the floor of my bathroom. I promptly jumped up on the toilet seat, slipped off, and slammed my head against the wall. The best part? It was a tuft of my hair. FML

I hope this is fake simply because it's a really sad story. And when exactly did you realize it was a black widow?... Or did you just figure "hmm... well lets see my dog ate a black spider... now he's dead.... musta been a black widow... oops"

srsly? its pretty easy to recognize a black widow.. sorry bout ur dog but IMO its ur fault. and how did the black widow bite ur dog? the fangs on it are so small it cant pierce human skin, and dog skin+fur is even thicker.

For those of you think black widow can kill a human, the chances are low if you are healthy and get help in time. Even a baby can survive if the baby gets help asap. It's painful but a human can definitely survive a bite from a black widow. So even, if the black widow bit the OP, he/she would live if the OP called for help. But for a dog, the effect could have been more dangerous hence the OP dog's dying.

#23, the hourglass shape is on the bottom of their butts. and also, i'm sooo sad for that loss i lvoe dogs! and i dont blame you but i dont think it was very smart to let your dog kill it i mean it's still a huge risk if u live in a place where black widows are found. and #178 since when cant BW pierce skin? ur thinking of a Daddy Long Legs.

How do you just not know a black widow by looking at it??? There is no spider that looks like a black widow other that a... Black Widow!! You should have killed it yourself, why would you have your dog do it!!!
