Today, I searched for free parking near my work for 30 minutes, trying to avoid paying $12 at a pay lot. I scored a spot, but 1 mile away from the office. I trekked through rain, cold, and got to work late. It was a long hard day, crawled back to my car, and had a $30 ticket on my windshield. FML

that's literally the dumbest thing ever....if you have to walk a mile to get to work then you might as well pay the damned $12

You don't get a parking ticket for no reason. You get a parking ticket if you parked wrong, or you parked in a no parking zone, or if you park in a spot that there's no parking during a certain time of the day. If you can't be bothered to read the damn signs, then YDI. You know what I did, when I realized it would be impossible for me to find on campus parking at my school at 10am? I paid for parking the first day, and then I went driving around to find the closest FREE legal street parking. Yeah, it's a mile away. And no, I won't get a ticket, because I READ THE PARKING SIGNS and know when it's illegal to park, and when it's not. So I don't get tickets.

It's whiney little shitheads like you that get the worst luck! Why don't you just suck it up and go with it!

umm almost the same as another FML?......yehh......

30 minutes?! I just make on circle for 2 or three minutes and if I can't find any free parking, I "kaak et betaal." That's a great South African expression meaning literally "shit and pay." If you saw it was raining and cold and you were late anyway, why didn't you just suck it up and pay? Get up an hour early tomorrow to find a free spot, Lock-Pockets!

Wow, nice job commenting the wrong FML post. dipshit.

That's what you get for being a cheap bastard. Stop being late and you'll actually get a decent spot.

For everyone calling him cheap, try sitting down and thinking about this for a minute. 12 dollars to park for the day, now imagine if he works 5 days a week. Thats 60 dollars a week, which adds up to 240 dollars a month, and finally 2880 dollars a year. There's a major difference between being cheap, and between economizing and trying to save money. So think before you make insulting comments like calling the OP cheap. As for the OP, just a suggestion, try car pooling if at all possible. Saves everybody gas, and between a car pool of four or five, that 12 dollars isn't as bad anymore.

Finally, someone with some common sense. And I agree with you about the idiots calling "fake". Apparently they've never heard of large cities. Trying to park in Manhattan is like entering a combat zone. People will actually crash into you to try to get a spot.
