Today, I started doing it again. I'd given up for years, but when I saw the pack I just couldn't help myself. One taste was enough to make me finish off the whole pack. Nobody knows that I've fallen off the wagon and I'm so ashamed of myself. Today, I began eating my cat's biscuits again. FML

hey OP, it sounds like you have pica. cat food is hardly the worst item on the list of things people with pica eat. you should do a blood test to rule out iron deficiency, which is a common cause. there are other mineral deficiencies which might be related, but that's a big one.

I highly doubt that eating cat biscuits counts as Pica, since it is technically food just not food intended for humans. Pica is the compulsive eating of things that are not food and is something I suffer from. Also while it can be from an iron deficiency there are quite a few other causes such a lead poisoning, other mineral deficiencies, mental illness such as OCD, Schizophrenia, and other eating disorders, (Eating paper to avoid eating food for example.) Even Pregnancy can cause it. Even if this is a form of Pica, which I doubt, it is far more likely OP ate them as a child and gained a psychological addiction from them as a comfort food. Many animal biscuits taste very similar to human cookies

One of the best FMLs I have read in a long time! I bake homemade peanut butter and oats dog biscuits for my two dogs. My daughter sneaks into the biscuits and eats them.
