Maybe it was the guy who threw him into the water, OP did say it was a couple. Better start getting used to mistreatment though, no one likes having their stuff taken, even if they completely deserve it.

FYL for having to work as a repo agent, since you'll always have really angry customers. YDI though for threatening to throw her in the water. Don't make stupid threats, call the cops and report her for assault. Or if you want to threaten her, threaten to call the cops and have her arrested for assault. Threatening to throw someone in the water is completely unprofessional, and quite ridiculous.

A poor way to deal with the situation. You should be trained to deal with angry, annoying and violent people working in your field, and I'm pretty sure stupid threats like that aren't part of that training. As soon as she assaulted your colleague you should have called the police, or a superior or something to diffuse. Not make the woman more angry by threatening her like a child.

it depends how you said it. if it was light hearted and you said it to try and help the mood, fyl. but if you said it in a nasty way and meant it as a threat then you kinda deserved it. you may have to put up with horrible customers but being the face of a company, it's vital to keep a cool head :)

Yeah, no, you deserved it for threatening her with violence. Pick a new line of work if you can't handle human interactions appropriately.

You can't just threaten people and not expect reprecussions.
