She deserved it b/c there are plenty of things she could have done to avoid this!
OP: See #100 You definitely did not deserve that. Congrats on the wedding. All the birth control commenters (not the OP): I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the implants yet. For the pills, yes some people are allergic to the lactose filler but some people have issues with the estrogen based birth control itself. [#77, yes you can have medical issues to the hormones themselves. As a regulator of your bodies natural cycles, the dosage itself can determine the side-effects. In pharmacology there is a saying, it is the dose that makes the difference between a drug and a poison.] Birth Control Implants, (E.g. Implanon) are progesterone based and work for some women . . . google it. For a lot of women, the implants have an added benefit of no periods.
Agreed with 100. A lot of you people are so ignorant. A pack of birth control pills has 28 pills (7 of which being sugar pills, the week you menstruate), but there's only one month that actually has 28 days. Every other month has 30/31 days, so even if you normally menstruate at the beginning of the month, eventually it'll get pulled back to the ending of the previous month and so forth. Anyone who has tried to plan a wedding would know that the menstrual cycle is probably the last thing on their minds at the time. Especially considering how far in advance you have to plan it. To the OP: I know how you feel. I'm going to have mine during my wedding as well. It sucks, but it's all part of the deal, I guess. I'm definitely going to be doing my own changing, though. :P
I applaud you, #100. You basically said everything I wanted to say. And I also prefer pads. I personally don't like the idea of having a cotten stick shoved up by ******, but thanks anyway.

that's why you go on birth control so that you can use it to safely delay or skip your period. it's part of wedding planning 101.
It likes to come at the worst possible moments. This is going to sound gross but, if you and your new husband want to do the deed, use a female condom. And hey, at least you know your bestfriend is a true friend!
