Today, I thought it would be a good idea to Super Glue a couple of quarters to the sidewalk downtown and watch people try to pick them up. Unfortunately, street patrol was watching me glue everything the whole time. I was fined with public vandalism and defacing US currency. FML

at number 12: U.S. Code : Title 18 : Section 333 states Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

Yes, it is against the law. Those penny machines are really in a grey area... law enforcement has chosen not to strictly enforce the law and allowed those machines to exist, but a strict interpretation of the law would make them illegal. This is also why its illegal to write on a dollar bill, hence why the treasury got a little pissed at the wheresgeorge.com experiment. I think this is a fantastic idea though... gluing quarters to the street. Having your fantastic idea destroyed by an overzealous beat cop sure sounds like a FYL to me. Maybe I'll have better luck when I try it :-P

#12 u must be a genius. Not to think there isn't a law for defacing money. My 2 year old nephew knows that. How would defacing money not be a law or a crime? OP that sux. Could have been worse, at least they only fined u. Better luck next time.

If you guys think this is funny. Glue a coin to a wall and look at the people who ACTUALLY get surprised when they can't take it off sucks to be u :P but YDI

loll. i've seen people superglue coins in town onto poles and stuff on a TV program before. then neds spend hours trying to picking a £1 coin off to no avail ;0 its amusing x]

I've done one on the floor of one of my class rooms in high school. The reactions were great. #34 I'm going to have to try that..thanks for the tip :)

I hope that I do not get in trouble for putting coins under railroad tracks. I like when the train squishes them!

#28: Obviously, yes, anyone who's female MUST do nothing with their day except shop and gossip. Seriously? Get over yourself. Remarkably ironic that you chose to include "please don't judge others" in that comment.
