Today, I told a customer that we don't do refunds. He responded by throwing his wallet at my face and accusing me of stealing it. FML

Meeting his assault with force is futile. Here's what you do: Curl up on the floor in a tight fetal (foetal) position around his wallet and wail inconsolably about having to enforce an unjust policy, but you need the job, blah, blah, blah, all while cleaning the cash out of the wallet. After the customer flees the store in shame and terror, drop the wallet in a nearby mailbox and let the postal service deal with it.

Nearly clicked YDI because I thought it said "rallets". OP that sucks, you should have picked up the register and threw it at their face and said he was stealing.
