You both sound somewhat immature. If you feel so bad about yourself you can't go out and have a good time if you gain a pound or two, you need some therapy. Your boyfriend needs to learn to control his temper..... Get some counseling, then get married.

I feel bad for your boyfriend and you. If it was a super special set up that you knew, like with dinner reservations or something that you knew about, then you should have just gone. If not then he should have just rescheduled. Either way, the situation could have been handled better by both parties.

I'm going to play devil's advocate for a second here. When OP said fat day, Op very well could have been talking about some sort of stomach issue. I know several people, myself included, where if we eat something we shouldn't we bloat up and almost look pregnant, feel like crap and spend most of the days following the eating of said food item in the bathroom. Some of my friends do call them fat days. Sometimes this happens and we have no idea what we ate to cause it. It may have been easier to just type fat day then explain that in the fml.

OP had no way of knowing that her boyfriend was going to propose, and her boyfriend should have been more respectful of her feelings and put it off until next time. The proposal should be a happy event for both parties, not something that only happened because she was bullied into going out by an overbearing boyfriend.
