Today, I told my boyfriend that I gained a few pounds and thought I looked fat. He replied that I looked the same and that I shouldn't worry because he likes fat girls. I never thought I was fat before this. FML

why would you say that you think you look fat and then say that you never thought you were fat before this?

I'm not sure this is an FML. It actually sounded like he meant it to be sweet. It basically means he'd love you even if you had put on a little weight. Don't take it so seriously ;)

#86 - This girl obviously isn't anorexic. She mentioned that she was aware that she had gained weight (however much "a few pounds" is) but doesn't mention trying to lose it. She just put her boyfriend on the spot. She's probably fat, or if not, she's getting there.

Um, I don't think he was saying that you're fat at all. He was most likely trying to make you feel better by saying that he likes fat girls since you indicated that you think you look fat. Therefore, he's saying that he would like you even if your body shape changes. He could have said it that way but, hey, boys will be boys. Definitely no FML. I'd probably be happy if my boyfriend said that to me. I agree with #102.

That's like... the number one question that you never ask your boyfriend/husband about yourself. Because it just shows that you're self conscious, and it makes him uncomfortable by putting him on the spot.

I'm sure he meant it with love. a lot of guys have trouble making something sound the way they see it in their heads. he's just trying to say he likes you for the size that you are so don't worry about it.

He's just trying to make you feel better. Guys can't really use words correctly when put under 'compliment pressure'.

i think he was probably trying to make u feel better, guys are the brightest. and even the same if he doesnt mind then you really shouldnt let it both u too much.

yeah, trust me, we have to think really hard when you girls say stupid things like "I think I'm fat" when you're not. a lot of times we just think up things on the spot, and some guys don't have a filter for that. stop saying stupid stuff like you think you look fat when you're not. you're not.

What exactly do you expect him to say. If he said something to the effect of "You're not fat," you'd call him a lier. If he said something to the effect of "Yeah, you need to loose weight," you'd call him an a**hole. You deserve it for asking that stupid question.

I agree with #111- that's not a question you should have asked. That's somthing you talk about with your best friend, not your boyfriend. Even if a guy is trying to be nice about the whole thing, which he obviously was, it's still wrong. Don't say you're fat if you don't want someone to tell you that you're right.
