Today, I told my crush, who I've liked for a while, that I liked him. He looked at me in pure terror and walked away. FML

Some people panic when their dreams come true. Keep after him until he processes it and can return your love. It may take a long time and you may violate some restraining orders, but it's so worth it!

Don't worry OP, I got those reactions in middle and high school. I don't anymore, and several of the guys who used to make fun of me back then have since asked me out (to which I responded by laughing at them). Some of us just take longer to reach swan status.

I can relate to this on a spiritual level. Don't worry OP, your time will come.

...and if it doesn't, there's always pizza and Netflix! A lifetime of happiness awaits!

I'm sorry that happened to you but I am impressed by your courage in telling the person rather than waiting for them to notice you.

Well, you've got one of two explanations. One, he's interested but didn't know how to react (it happens); two, he's NOT interested, and walked away instead of blurting out something hurtful. You already jumped the big hurdle, so just asking him what's up isn't any big deal. Just be prepared in case it's the second explanation.
