I wouldn't even care if I didn't get to go to dinner or anything like that, it's just the fact that OP's parents would choose to buy an unnecessary TV for -themselves- after saying that a dinner out is too expensive. Even if a dinner out in NYC is too expensive, don't just throw salt in the wound by buying a new TV that OP probably isn't even going to enjoy personally (assuming they are moving out soon, being 18 and all).
Where did they get a huge plasma tv for only $800? Am I the only one thinking that's pretty cheap?
Well if you dont want the TV, I will take it off your hands.
Boo hoo, my parents bought me an expensive TV.
YDI for incorrectly using an apostrophe.
Plasma for $800?? They got ripped off, and who the he'll would buy plasma... They suck
wow, way to be an ungrateful bitch. Do you know how many people deserve that tv more than you? Have you ever thought that maybe your parents purchased the tv BEFORE you told them what you wnted. Besides, the tv will last. Food will not.

That's bull shit. Throw lasagna at them.
I'm gonna say FYL because I live in NJ and while it's hard to get to NY just for dinner, for a birthday that's a reasonable gift, so to say that's too expensive and then buy a brand new tv, that's just rude.
