Today, I took a girl to a sushi restaurant for our first date. She insisted she's had sushi before, but I had to watch her struggle with the chopsticks for a few minutes before mercifully asking the waitress for a fork. She then ate a fork full of wasabi, thinking it was guacamole. I think there won't be a second date. FML

Maybe she was too shy to say that she hadn't? Some girls don't want to disappoint guys sometimes, so maybe she said yes because she knew you liked sushi?

At least she didn't mistake the wasabi for pistachio ice cream :P

Just because she doesn't know how to use chopsticks or know what wasabi is doesn't mean she's never had sushi before. She was probably already really nervous, but it sounds like she was still trying for you. I think you should give her another chance

What's the view like from your high horse? This girl was willing to put something strange in her mouth in a bid to impress you. She's a keeper.

this coming from a guy who took a girl out to eat, fish bait.

I have an aunt who did that thinking it was guacamole!

People use chopsticks to eat sushi rolls? O.o

The Wasabi part that's stupid. The chopsticks part? Really I kind of hope that wasn't a factor in your decision. People do realize that eating with chopsticks isn't necessary right? Use what you're comfortable with if you grew up in a household that uses forks and knives then do that.

LOL she sounds like a riot! You're a party-pooper, OP.

just sayin', i can't use chopsticks, but i love me some sushi. f her life cuz she ate a whole forkful of wasabi. i don't touch that stuff with a 43 and 3/4 foot pole.

Wow. You sound so stuck up. If I knew you, I'd end up breakin your heart for the fun of it. Lol
