Today, I took a girl to a sushi restaurant for our first date. She insisted she's had sushi before, but I had to watch her struggle with the chopsticks for a few minutes before mercifully asking the waitress for a fork. She then ate a fork full of wasabi, thinking it was guacamole. I think there won't be a second date. FML

Maybe she was too shy to say that she hadn't? Some girls don't want to disappoint guys sometimes, so maybe she said yes because she knew you liked sushi?

At least she didn't mistake the wasabi for pistachio ice cream :P

I hope you embarrass yourself on a date OP and the girl is as cold as you. Don't be an asshole because the girl tried doing something you like to make you happy. Shallow guys like you make us all look bad.

What type of person lies about these things? It's so silly.

Just because she's had sushi before doesn't mean she's an expert at chopsticks you dick

Why so harsh? She was obviously trying to impress you.

Lmao this is more of an FML for her. And no offense OP but you sound like a douche. You wouldn't date her again because she lied about eating sushi before as an attempt to impress you ? I can understand the whole not liking lies thing but it was about sushi for **** sakes.

On the off chance that this was worded weird and it was HER that didn't want to go back out with you then don't feel bad because it was her own fault she said she ate sushi before. Either way I don't see any of it as a reason to deny a second date.

"Because she thought it was guacamole" who even goes to a restaurant and eats a fork full of guacamole anyway ???

At first I thought "Well, maybe she is just bad at using chopsticks" but then the wasabi...oi...

If it was me, I'd give her a second chance. she tried something for you and often the worst dates end up in the best relationships, plus you'll always have a good story to tell people :)

I'm surprised a girl even ate sushi
