Today, I took a test as part of a job requirement. I took a sip from a bottle of juice, and the lady leading the test gave me a warning. I tried to explain that if I didn't, I would faint. She took the bottle and hid it. 15 minutes later I collapsed. She thought I was faking. I'm hypoglycemic. FML

Wow. One on hand, you really should have said "I'm hypoglycemic," instead of just saying that you would faint. But on the other.. Taking juice away on a job test from somebody that claims that they'd faint... She should be getting in trouble for that. Hope you got the job!

Being hypoglycemic sucks. Though it's not just you have to have sweets, you gotta avoid them too. I had frosted flakes one morning then went to softball and nearly fainted from too much sugar. I don't know the specifics of it all but nonetheless, it sucks. FYL

what a bitch! what does she think.. your 5 or something? D:< im sorry that happened!

Hypoglycemics should not depend on processed sugar except in an emergency, as those sugars cause your levels to crash right after, thus exacerbating the problem. Those saying to stay away from sugar are partially right, as complex carbs and proteins which stabilize blood sugar throughout the day are the best things to eat for anyone, and particularly people who have blood-sugar problems. The refined sugar in candy is best saved for emergencies when you need sugar quickly. If you live in a place where you need to pay for hospital bills, you should sue the company/proctor. That was insensitive and inappropriate.

Today, I read the comments on this FML and realized how cruel and stupid a large portion of the people I have to share this planet with are. FML. 1) Some people just won't listen to you. It happens. 2) What if OP hadn't passed out and the woman had just voided his test, causing him to lose his job? Who can afford that? 3) Do you know what it's like to be hypoglycemic? 4) Maybe OP couldn't get the woman's attention again. Maybe... a whole lot of things. I hope you all don't hold yourselves to the same ridiculous standards you hold complete strangers to, because if you do, you're probably completely miserable.
