Today, I took a test as part of a job requirement. I took a sip from a bottle of juice, and the lady leading the test gave me a warning. I tried to explain that if I didn't, I would faint. She took the bottle and hid it. 15 minutes later I collapsed. She thought I was faking. I'm hypoglycemic. FML

Wow. One on hand, you really should have said "I'm hypoglycemic," instead of just saying that you would faint. But on the other.. Taking juice away on a job test from somebody that claims that they'd faint... She should be getting in trouble for that. Hope you got the job!

Today, I saw someone taking a sip of juice during the test. Since you can't have food I told them to get rid of it. They came up with a lame excuse saying they will faint without it. Since I'm a clever bitch I didn't fall for it. 15 minutes later the person fainted. All I could say was ooopsies! FML

sue her! say that she intentionally hid ur stuff. to get revenge. and so her for fainting and trauma.

Haha, dumb bitch. Next time you should specify, though.

Call a lawyer and your union rep (if you have one). You could probably sue under 3 different federal and/or state acts for this one.

What kind of Nazi job is that? NO JUICE FOR YOU!

If you don't get the job, sue them for discrimination. The Americans with Disabilities Act requires them to make reasonable accomodations, and I would imagine letting a hypoglycigmic person drink juice would be considered a reasonable accommodation.

I don't understand why she took the drink away from you.. I've been on many interviews/testing interviews, and never had a drink taken away or told I couldn't have them. Although YKDI for not keeping your levels properly leveled. I know a lot of diabetics and hypoglycemics, and they never have that issue unless they're not monitoring their levels and eating properly!

I have several issues with comments here. First of all, where do you all get the right to attack the OP for not mentioning the condition. Employers aren't lagally suppses to discriminate based on health issues (with some exceptions), buttgat doesn't mean they don't. It's her business an if she takes care of it, it's not an issue Second, purchasing a medic-alert for something you don't have is retarted and of no help at all. The proper ones will have the info necessary to Emerg. people to treat you and if it's wrong, your worse off. About the questions 'why didn't you tell her?', have you ever been 'low'? I don't mean hungry and a bit shaky, I mean medically hypoglycemic. Not funan your not totally on your best. I've had hypos where Ive refused sugar and had to bassically be force fed a tablet. It's possible the OP was just getting out the info as concisly as she could manage. And finnally, being Hypoglycemic (or Diabetic) does not mean you have to 're-sugar' every 15 mins.aybe she/he's just low now. It's possible to not feel. them untill your pretty fat gone. So definitly FML. To the poster near the top how said it wasn't so bad, I don't think your an idiot, just never say that to someone else. I don't care if you have it, every case is differet and faintings a pretty big deal. You can go into a coma, and it can be fatal. It's not like being too wasted, this ***** a big deal.
