Today, I took a test as part of a job requirement. I took a sip from a bottle of juice, and the lady leading the test gave me a warning. I tried to explain that if I didn't, I would faint. She took the bottle and hid it. 15 minutes later I collapsed. She thought I was faking. I'm hypoglycemic. FML

Wow. One on hand, you really should have said "I'm hypoglycemic," instead of just saying that you would faint. But on the other.. Taking juice away on a job test from somebody that claims that they'd faint... She should be getting in trouble for that. Hope you got the job!

#33 you have Dysautonomia and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome?! Me too! Except I have POTS(Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) along with NCS. Which clearly sucks. Been bedridden for 2 years now. Totally can relate to the OP on this because with POTS when we try to sit or stand our heart rate goes up to ATLEAST 150 bpm and our blood pressure drops dangerously low. So either we faint or get so ill from Orthostatic Intolerance that we have to lie down or our bodies literally shut down. It's a really hard chronic illness to deal with. When I used to be healthy enough to go to school 4 years ago I had to deal with a lot of ignorant people too. Word of wise: Stand up for yourself! Is a taking a test really worth hurting yourself from fainting. So stand up for yourself from now on and say "I'm hypogylcemic...so unless you want to pick up my limp body off the ground- let me drink my damn juice.". That should shut her up. Hope you didn't get hurt :)

She couldn't tell that your blood sugar was low? You'd think turning pale and being a bit shakey before passing out would be a big clue.

dumbass, YDI, why would you not tell them beforehand ESPECIALLY when you know you aren't supposed to have that sort of stuff in the testing room to begin with?

youre all really stupid... yes hypo means low but when you have low blood sugar youre not suppose to eat a bunch of sugar... youre suppose to eat carbs and protein because they turn into sugar over time. if you eat sugar itll make your blood sugar go way up, then CRASH down, and thats most likely how youll faint... sooo know your facts before you start saying stuff

I hope she felt like shit. People are so ignorant.

why have so few people said that you deserved that one? It's not her fault you didn't tell her you are hypoglycemic. Geez.
