Today, I took a test as part of a job requirement. I took a sip from a bottle of juice, and the lady leading the test gave me a warning. I tried to explain that if I didn't, I would faint. She took the bottle and hid it. 15 minutes later I collapsed. She thought I was faking. I'm hypoglycemic. FML

Today, due to increasing frequency and severity of hypoglycemic symptoms, I went to the doctor. Apparently, the pill may have given me a rare form of temporary diabetes. She wants me to be a case study for the next 12 months. FML

Today, I was working as a stagehand for one of my college classes. I’m diabetic and can’t go without food for more than a few hours. I was told that if I left early, ate anything backstage, or passed out, I would fail the class. I passed out. FML

Today, while at work I passed out due to my blood sugar not being normal. Despite the fact that it took 10 minutes to wake me, no one thought I was in any sort of danger. After the episode, I then got fired for "sleeping on the job." FML

Today, I had to take a drug test for a new job. I ended up spilling the cup of pee all over myself. I had to explain what had happened, then go sit in a waiting room full of disgusted-looking people, while I kept drinking water to fill my bladder back up. FML

Today, my manager gave me hell for leaving the restaurant early yesterday. Guilty as charged, but only because I was rushed to the hospital after going into diabetic shock. This assmunch is convinced that I either faked it all to get off work early, or that I'd been eating our own stock. FML

Wow. One on hand, you really should have said "I'm hypoglycemic," instead of just saying that you would faint. But on the other.. Taking juice away on a job test from somebody that claims that they'd faint... She should be getting in trouble for that. Hope you got the job!

YOu should have stated that, and then if you passed out, you could have probly sued. That realy sucks though, and if it was me administering the test, i would have allowd you to continue drinking, because its better safe than sorry. :( she should be kicked off the administrators roster.

#44 Speaking of knowing what words mean, you should know that hypoglycemic is a 5 *syllable* word, and not a 5 syllabus word. About the incident in question, the OP was totally screwed. You don't know what this person was doing beforehand and s/he may not have had time to have a full healthy glycemically-balanced meal. It doesn't take long for blood-glucose levels to change, especially when your body tends to run lower-than-normal blood-glucose levels. The proctor was absolutely out of line. I wouldn't say a lawsuit is in order. I would say that I would have punched that bitch if she tried to touch my juice.

Talk to a lawyer. If you don't get the job you could claim discrimination. You may also claim negligence for the the lady taking your juice & ignoring your claim of fainting without it.
