Today, I took a video of a fellow employee doing nothing but watching YouTube videos at work. When I showed the video to my boss, hoping he'd be reprimanded, I got fired for operating video equipment on company grounds. FML

Most companies with suspend someone for not working on company time. I have a friend that was fired on a web design job for checking his personal email on job hours. This rule goes with most companies it isn't "snitching" if someone brings it to the attention of a supervisor. OP being fired is unfortunate, but I"m sure it is a rule since they are probably dealing with personal client information that nothing should be filmed just in case that information gets leaked.
