Today, I took an online IQ test, even though I knew they give everyone unrealistically high scores. My score was 73. FML

Maybe it was an unrealistically low score

IQ tests are just for entertainment purposes OP. The result means nothing.

May be they just wants you to try it again...

Maybe their numbers are low...like 75 is the top score? Who knows how it's set up...but half are usually bull anyway

IQ test scores have absolutely no correlation with success in life so even if you have a low score your fine

OP, an IQ of 70 is considered "mentally retarded" If you were able to post this FML, you already proved the IQ test wrong

65 & below is "mentally challenged" according to the original "real" test giving by a real person who's qualified to give those tests. Lol, don't know why everyone keeps saying its 75 & below....because that's what's "retarded" is these bogus online tests. I score 191 on the real test... It sucks to have to "dumb" myself down to speak with most of my coworkers, & they wonder why I don't talk much.

#83, I feel your pain. I have had an extensive vocabulary ever since I was a child, and I have had to dumb myself down for others.

I'm a psychologist, and it's not that simple. A diagnosis of intellectual disability is not based solely on IQ scores... you have to look at independent living (adaptive) skills, as well. In general, you need either IQ or adaptive skills to be below 70, but scores below 75 may qualify based on the imprecise nature of the assessment. And I call BS on your score of 191. No measure of IQ goes that high, and that's simply impossible. But if it makes you feel better to lie about how smart you are on FML, more power to you.

this fml has been posted before. same score the only difference was they said their son had a 120 or something.

doubt. anything under 90 means one is severely mentally challenged.

Unrealistically high scores you say? FYL

OP I have a formally tested IQ of 154 (and am a member of MENSA), yet when upon taking some of the online tests (mostly out of curiosity to see their accuracy) my scores ranged from 95 to 160 (out of 7 seperate 'exams', which without my proper score would seem off given I scored a 62 on the ACT with a cold and a 99 on my ASVAB which is percentile based). There are several factors to keep in mind here, many IQ tests have a different range (meaning 1 exam may give a score of 132, and another may give the same person an equivalent score of 148). There are even some exams that only give a percentile and no score at all. Also any distractions during an IQ exam can cause your score to dip increasingly, until you might as well be a potato sitting at your keyboard. Don't dispare, if you truly want to know your IQ locate your local psychological association and sign up for a proper exam with a proctor.

IQ tests are never right. They're always really high or really low.

That's even lower than Forrest gump's IQ score. His was a 75.
