Today, I tried convincing my Valentine-hating boyfriend to send me a card, by explaining how important it is to me. He finally agreed and sent me a card. I opened it up, and it wished me 'harmony and well-being on Lupercalia'. What is Lupercalia? It's an ancient Roman festival where men run down the street naked, whipping people with goat skins to encourage fertility. FML

Today, as part of a charity project called Operation Valentine, I worked with 150 other volunteers to make care packages and Valentine's Day cards to send to the troops in Afghanistan, thanking them for their courage. My boyfriend called the cards "cheating" and now refuses to see me. FML

Today, my boyfriend came to visit me for my birthday. Over dinner he handed me a blank card that had the words "I love you" hastily written on it. When the waiter came to take our order he informed him that we'd be paying separately. Happy Birthday. FML

I usually get chocolates or a bag of jelly belly beans (30 flavor variety) for V day. But that's actually pretty funny he sent you a card celebrating nekkid men running amok in the streets, whipping each other with goat skins. Don't get uptight about it. your bf has a sense of humor.

Stop using Japanglish (a mixture of Japanese and English that shows lack of any actual knowledge of the Japanase language). Either use Japanese correctly, or don't use it at all. As a student that is studying Japanese, I'm aggravated. For one thing, you used the slang version of the English word naked. Error number one. You didn't even bother using the entire language and decided to mix it up. Another thing, your little phrase translates to "Naked, isn't it?" which I'm sure isn't what you were trying to say. Sorry. I don't mean to sound like a bitch, but that annoys me. My comment to you probably sounds more mean than it's meant to -_-'
