Today, I tried to impress a girl I like by sliding down the rails of our school's stairs. My foot got snagged and I ended up with a broken ankle. FML

Could've been your balls. Count your blessings

Got me at "I tried to impress a girl", instant YDI since these never end well. Also, what is so impressive about sliding down a rail?

eh kinda had it coming, but not by much.

Tacos... Tacos are the way to her heart.

Which makes you even more silly to slide down. You still deserve it.

I agree with #41, and because it was long and spiraled you kind of deserved it even more, it was an accident waiting to happen.

Wow, harsh room. lol Op, so yeah, not the brightest of moves but I'm sorry that you had to learn that lesson so painfully. If you were my kid I'd say you deserved a "face palm" but I don't think making a poor decision due to teen hormones means you deserve your injury. Keep in mind that a teens impulse control isn't fully matured until between the ages of 19-21 and think twice and then a third time in the future about any stunt you decide to pull to catch someone's attention. But please don't call yourself dumb or stupid, everyone your age uses poor judgement at times, most of us didn't have to learn by physical pain though. We got lucky. Keep it iced and be careful in the future please, Good luck.

A bunch of idiots do that at my school, once I saw someone fall off and I heard he broke his leg. YDI for doing something unsafe and stupid

Next time try something simple, say like strike up a conversation? Let this one slide for now. Try better next time.

Ugh I slid down a rail once too and my foot got snagged and I ended up with a ****** up ankle too. I don't know if I sprained it. I may have. I ended up missing a big soccer tournament that was outside of my country :/

I'm sorry, missing your soccer tournament must of been harsh

I'm one of those that read, "tried to impress the girl I like" and automatically write it off as ydi. At that point, I continue reading cause they're usually good for a laugh.

My boyfriend won me over by giving me sweets he had made in is food and nutrition class (yeah, I know. We made a lot of cookies/brownies while learning how to eat a proper diet). It was his last class of the day and we would meet up at the front of the school to walk home together (we were already friends from the same after school club). Five years later, we're still together. Try talking to her, be yourself. You could either get yourself a girlfriend or a new friend. Either way, you get to spend time with her. You never know unless you try.

Well i'm glad to see that you and your boyfriend are doing so well, but our relationship was not as good as yours. We have only been friend for almost a year and not even good friend just the type when you see in the hallway you would say hi to each other, and then just move on with your day.
