Pot (along with dozens of other mood altering drugs, including alcohol) hinders brain development in children and young adults. So smoking pot won't make you stupid, but it can keep you stupid. That said, stoners seem to be doing a lot stupider stuff than they used to, it used to be just pointless conversation and giggling uncontrollably at the 7-11 guy.

I know exactly three people who smoke pot on a regular basis. One is a phD student and university professor, one is a DNA scientist, and one is a librarian. Not all pot smokers are stupid. In fact, a lot of them are quite high functioning.

I understand this. I said its people who do stuff like this who perpetuate that stereotype.

I was talking more to 71, but yeah. People aren't getting any stupider, we just hear about it more because of the Internet. There've been idiots for millennia.

perhaps the way they grow the plants nowadays compared to say, in the 60's or 70's has something to do with it? It's all about the money now, where previously it may have been different?
