Today, I walked to my local McDonald's. I spent the last 7 dollars I had on my meal. As I began to walk back to my dorm, I was mugged. I explained to them I had no money, so they stole my food. FML

umm, #1, he'd spend it on junk food because he's a college student who needs to eat? and mcdonald's was the cheapest option available? (aat least, that's what i'm presuming). maybe there's nothing left in the fridge?

$7 at McDonalds? Not so difficult I think...I don't know how it is in USA, but the big meal costs about 5€ here...quite close to $7... Anyway, FYL...it's just sick to steal food if one doesn't have cash.

I love how everyone gives their opinion based on their own assumptions about the OP. First, we know the OP is a college student and that he walked. So, we know that he probably doesn't have a lot of money and he either doesn't have a car or decided that the McDonalds was close enough he would just walk. I know some colleges that don't allow freshman to have a car on campus. So maybe driving to a grocery store wasn't possible and the closest one is too far to walk to. What is wrong with spending the entire $7, maybe he wanted a big mac meal instead of the stuff on the value menu? It is his money, he can spend it on whatever he wants. I doubt the money was all he had to his name, maybe it was the only cash he had until payday or he just doesn't carry that much cash..... No matter what, the OP did NOT deserve what happened to him. Sure, it could have been worse, but put yourself in the shoes of the OP. Would you just shrug it off, say it could have been worse, and just went back to your dorm room to study? I highly doubt it!

Should've used the dollar menu. But then they'd steal your food and the $3 you saved, so I guess it's irrelevant.
