Today, I wanted to take my girlfriend to a nice dinner before prom. Her parents followed her in, and joined us to "keep an eye on me." They interrupted all our conversations, ate an expensive meal, then got up and walked out when the waitress brought the $95 check, leaving me to pay for it. FML

it's ok you get them back while you **** their daughter

Only pay for your two meals and tell the restaurant the name and address of the two parents..

i would have said somethinq to the parents or to the qirlfriend so she can say somethinq to her parents

The letter 'q' does not equal the letter 'g'!

If they were going to spy on you, they could've gotten another table nearby and bought their own meal. Not that it's okay for them to spy on you, but that just made it even more rude. Why would they want to "keep an eye on you" during your dinner only? Did they think you guys would have sex in the restaurant?

Her parents sound like assholes. Seriously, who does that? My parents are protective but if I go to a RESTAURANT with a friend/s they just drop me off and pick me up when I call them to get me. At the very least if they were going to 'keep an eye on you' (which is ridiculous seeing as you were in a public place) they should have gotten a table of their own and paid for their own meals... If I were you I would have specifically requested a table for two when I got to the restaurant. That way when they sat at a different table you wouldn't have been given their bill. A $95 bill is hard for a high school student, must have made quite the dent in your budget =( I bet they ordered all the expensive things too.

an expensive dinner is when it costs that much for just you and your date..you got off easy

I'm assuming the kid is in high school, thus a 98 dollar check is quiet expensive. And the worst part is that the parents who are adults is making a kid pay. Pretty shameless adults that girl got as parents.

it's prom he already knew it was going to be costly and $95 bill is $20 meal and drink each plus tax that's a regular meal

where the hell did you learn math?!

it's four of them the bill is under &100 so almost $25 for each of them..where the hell are you from where this is an expensive bill for four at a nice restaurant?? is mcdonalds your 5 star restaurant where you're from and I'm a nuclear engineer major so my math is beyond you

53, if you spend $25 a pop at McDonald's, you're a gigantic fatass and no amount of bragging about your math skillz will ever change that.

those batman briefs look so professional. (and I know where you got them, wal-mart)

You sir are an insensitive prick who is probably 300 pounds and was pampered until he moved out, to that poor guy, $90 is a lot of cash, he probBly doesn't have some overpapmpering parents like you

From the looks of you batman, you probably need at least 90-100 $$ to go somewhere by-YOURSELF.

deputy I agree under 100 for 4 people is not expensive for a nice dinner- more like 300 ( and no I'm not some spoiled brat who mooches off their parents) ...though prom suggests the OP is in highschool so he's prob used to chain restaurant prices like the 99 ( which is nasty) and the parents should have paid for their own food.

one I didn't buy these at walmart two mcdonalds is the cheapest restaurant and I know $25 is outrageous to spend and finally lol I'm 160 lbs and I can max out on the marine and navy physical assessment brains and brawn bitches

your profile picture looks terrible and I come from a wealthy family but some people aren't so fortunate

181 seeing as you don't have a profile pic stfu ok

not for a high school student

Next time flag down someone from staff to let them know 2 people are trying to skip out on the bill It seems like you need to keep an eye on them!

Her parents suck. You should have told them beforehand that you're only paying for your date. Ha.
