Today, I was at a house delivering pizza. As I walked away, I heard the mom mutter to her child, "That's why you go to college." FML

haha how old are you OP? If you're in high school pizza delivery isn't a bad job

That was very presumptuous of her. I know a few people who actually paid for college by delivering pizzas...what's to say that OP isn't doing that as well? Even if she's not, it was still impolite of the woman to say that while OP was in earshot.

I delivered pizza while I was going to college. some people are just stupid. I actually know someone that has a master degree and is delivering pizza for extra money. well paid at the right store

I hate parents that do that. Using other people as examples of what not to be/do. That's the sort of attitude that creates a social divide and make some feel like they're better than others. That mother had no idea what circumstances surrounded the OP that put him in that job. It could be that he's currently studying and needs the extra spending money, he could be working a second job, he could just like the idea of job where you get to drive around, or it could honestly be just the best thing that's he's got going for him at the moment. But who is she, or anyone else for that matter, to judge?

FYL OP. Lots of people are paying their way through school by getting part time jobs like delivering pizzas. And even if you didn't go to college someone has to deliver pizzas...a job is a job. Even the so called "dirty jobs" or "drop out" jobs are necessary for our society to function properly.

# 18 is right, just because you deliver pizza you dumb, that is a dumb phrase. Pizza delivery is a job, just like any job if you're good at it you make more money, if you bad maybe not. You could have a degree or not, with the economy the way it is its better to have a job than sleeping in the streets. Just like someone said before some of them many 600-800 a week. I work full time with a decent pay and 600-800 is more than what I make a week. These days it doesn't even matter if you have a degree is who you know not what you know. I had a few interviews for a "better" job, and you still have to deal with lots of bs and politics, thats before I even get to step in the door. I laugh at people who over spend their 6 figure salaries and still in debt.
