Today, I was closing the deal on this beautiful $200k ranch in the country. The buyer soon pulls up and we get to discussing the contract terms, soon the buyer asks the seller," Wow why is this house going so cheap?" The seller replies, "Do you believe in ghosts?" There goes my $8,000 commission. FML

Wow. That is totally screwed up. I hope the seller was saying that as a joke, if the seller wasn't then they are a total idiot.

You got the wrong buyers. If I had the money, I would've bought the house BECAUSE of the ghosts. Unless they were vengeful spirits. I'm sorry though, that really sucks. Especially in this global economy XP.

#7... are you dumb or just ignorant?

#81 Monster's under the bed and hauntings are completely different. Just because you hear strange noises or see unusual things doesn't mean your a whackjob. It could have a completely logical explaination, and that explanation could be dangerous in a completely mundane way: like faulty framing, leaking pipes, bad wiring, etc. This is the reason why you have to report if you believe your house may be haunted. If the owners are leaving the house, the buyer is inheriting the problem whether it's really a ghost or not. If a buyer gets the house, and then one of the walls collapses, the buyer can sue the real estate firm. What a sad way for someone to lose their job just because they "don't believe in ghosts." ANY real estate agent knows this, whether they're a good one or not, and that means that the the owner probably never TOLD the agent in the first place. Ignoring this fact: just because a real estate agent doesn't believe in ghosts doesn't matter. The agent isn't the one getting the house, and whether you believe in ghosts or not, millions of people do. I personally have never had an encounter with ghosts, so until I do, I'll have an opened mind.

ghosts are the worst. nothing out of the ordinary has ever happened to me, and i hope nothing ever will, friendly or not.

Whew, good thing there's no such thing as ghosts. Nice steal

#33 good one :D one more thing, aren't the sellers and buyers sort of forbidden to interact with each other because the buyer might end up directly buying from the seller, and so the realtor loses his commission?

I wouldn't buy it I know it sounds wierd but i just don't like the idea that it's possible that my house is haunted. even if it wasn't haunted I would hear things and get creeped out.
