I'm glad someone shares my pain. I got stuck washing dishes at my old job and the manager kept telling me to smile. Smile at what, the dishes? Hang in there OP.

I work at a buffet and use to have a boss who would run around when we opened yelling "smile everyone smile."

I didn't get a job because I put down I'd be there less than 6 months. I was applying to be a cashier. Who the hell plans to be a cashier for more than 6 months? "Being a cashier inspires my lifelong dream" THOSE are the people you gotta look out for... tl;dr: i think we're in the sorry state of the economy were in is because upper management doesn't know how to do its job. Asking dishwashers, who will never be seen, to fake smiles and looking for people who want to work at a cashier permanently.

Having a positive attitude will help you move up. Dishwashing isn't exciting, but if you wanna move to prep or line, you have to have a good attitude even if you wanna snap necks. I wouldn't say you have to smile all night, but at least try to smile once in a while
