Today, I was doing my first shift waitressing in a café. Not an hour in, I'd already spilt tea over somebody and dropped two whole meals. Looks like this won't last much longer. FML

Today, I was feeling sick but went into my waitressing job because I'd already missed 3 days this week. I was dizzy and managed to spill a tray of drinks all over the customers. Then, when their food was done, I tripped and spilled hot chili all over the man's lap. FML

Today, while working at the coffee shop, I had to empty the garbage cans. One of the bags gave way, and all the half-finished cups of coffee spilled all over my uniform. Most customers' orders cost more than I make per hour. FML

Today, it was my first day at a new job as a waitress for a wedding function centre. As I was opening the door to collect dirty plates from the guests, I bumped into a colleague carrying a tray full of full champagne glasses, all of which fell and smashed on the floor. FML

Today, as a restaurant hostess, I fell into the fountain at work while carrying a high chair in front of several large parties, who all promptly laughed at me. We were so busy, I had to stay and finish my shift soaking wet. FML

Today, while serving a line of ten customers by myself at the coffee shop I work at, I knocked over a cup of steaming hot milk and it went all over the coffee bar, espresso machine, floor, and myself. I then had to act like everything was fine and make a line of drinks with milk everywhere. FML

Today, it was my first day at work. They had me a large tray with lots of food on it, even after I told them I wasn’t comfortable carrying it. I hit the door on the way out of the kitchen, spilling everything on the tray, breaking two soup bowls and three salad plates. FML

Today, I was working as a waitress at a wedding. I was trying to clear the tables as quickly as possible and decided to place a half bowl of soup on top of the pile of plates I was carrying. As I was hurrying back to the kitchen I tripped and spilt the soup all over the bride's ivory dress. FML

Probably one of the harder customer service jobs to do. just keep at it OP, we all have to start somewhere. Just fight through it.

I use to be a waitress, give it time! Takes a few weeks to get in a good groove and learn everything to be great. Just put in all your effort and have a better attitude about it! :)

as a waitress/waiter, the first day is almost guaranteed to be awful. just stick through it and it'll get better each day.

Please don't get discouraged and give up. I was told I was a terrible caregiver starting out and now I'm still doing it 2 years later and am amazing at it! (also going to nursing school!) Everyone learns at different paces.

Shake it off. I spilt an entire tray of sodas on a customer (middle of winter). She invited me to have margaritas. Also dropped a guy's meal right as he got a call that his house was on fire. Whoops. Accidents happen. Breathe and relax. You'll be fine!
